The Collective Consciousness

The collective morals, ethics, and beliefs of our society can be thought of as a single consciousness by which humanity can attain its highest purpose for being. We all know what is right. We know the difference between compassion and selfishness. We know what love is, and we know what abandonment is. There exists in each of us an innate universal knowledge than is beyond time and space.

More importantly we are all connected. Our actions like beat of a butterflies wings can have drastic repercussions across, now more than ever (especially in these tumultuous times). Our choices say as much about who we are and what we stand for as the words that vacate our mouths.

What good is it if we speak of love and equality, but that should the cloths that drape our nakedness be fabricated in the suffering of others? What good is it if we show compassion to those before us, yet care little of those abused to bring us our comfort that we can not see?

Perhaps it is time to place the collective consciousness before profit.
